About me
My interest and passion for becoming a psychologist are deeply rooted in my childhood experience immigrating to Canada from Korea. I lived and witnessed many challenges common to immigrant families, including the loss of social support and intergenerational conflict that can arise as a result of migration. Facing these challenges, I gained perspective on how cultural identities, whether that may be related to race/ethnicity, sex/gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status, among others, shape our experiences and impact our overall health.
I have been working with clients for over 10 years. I received a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and completed my psychology residency at Vancouver Coastal Health. Providing a compassionate environment for those who have felt ‘other-ed’ or marginalized is central to my practice.
In my spare time, I enjoy spoiling my dog with love and attention, baking, and watching documentaries.
